I like the way gardens change without ever being quite finished. Books and gallery visits offer another kind of landscape, and I enjoy sharing discoveries without making an itinerary of them. Warmth and a sense of humour matter much more to me than having the perfect plan.
My favourite discoveries are usually modest ones: a fragrant corner of a garden, a sentence underlined in pencil, a painting that looks different on a second visit. I enjoy sharing them with someone who is happy to slow down for a moment.
